Chuck Rosenberg passed away in 2015, leaving an enormous wealth of previously unseen artwork to my brother and me. Though he spent much of his career as a senior copy editor for trade and medical publications, his creative sideline was book and album illustration, for which he trained at Cleveland Institute of Art.

Most of all, he elevated the paper-collage artform to a story illustration medium. Each piece you will see here is composed from hundreds of magazine and poster clippings - collected over decades - which Chuck somehow organized in numerous filing cabinets, and which he masterfully blended into eye-popping, thought-provoking tableaus that help to tell the stories he loved.

We want to share these works with the public to celebrate his genius and keep his memory alive. The following links highlight some wonderful sample collections (there are dozens more) that were created to accompany some of Chuck's favorite fantasy tales. Each "thumbnail" on the collection page, in turn, links to a detailed description of that particular illustration.
